Choice between 2 sessions or a full 4 weeks.
Full day allows for more academic time as well as extra curricular activities.

The Summer Program of the International School of Larissa offers a range of courses, sports and activities for students of 4 - 17 years of age. The aim of the Pre-K, Kindergarten and Primary programs is to involve students in both challenging and fun activities so that they develop skills in many areas in addition to the English language. The Middle and High School program offers a structured schedule, including academic and non-academic activities, making the most of the educational opportunities available on and off campus. The principal language of instruction is English. Summer school students make full use of all the school's facilities. The program runs for four weeks beginning the last week of June and ending the third week of July, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Students receive sessions of language instruction emphasizing vocabulary, grammar, literature, as well as reading and writing. Students studying language have supplemental period of computing. Comments on each students progress will be sent home at the end of the summer program including a certificate of attendance.

Summer schoolers participate in off-campus activities. Excursions are designed to offer the students exposure to cultural, leisure or scenic sites. Some favorite visits are the Art Gallery, bowling, going for a swim or even hiking at Mountain Olympus.

Course Offerings

Languages all levels: English/English as Second Language/Greek
The main language of instruction is English and many of our students are native Greek speakers. However while the Greek students are studying "English as a second language" we offer "beginners Greek" to native English speakers who are enrolled. And for native speakers of English or Greek who do not wish to study a second language, or those that are advanced in their study of the second language, we also offer advanced Greek and English. Other languages such as German, Spanish and so on are available upon demand.

Greek Culture
Summer program at International school of LarissaThe study of Greek culture is important as we have a lot of foreign students that are here only for the summer and the main purpose of learning Greek culture is so that they will be more aware of how Greek people live and work. This culture study is also an asset to native Greek students because it also deals with proper etiquette and manners in Greece

High School courses subject to demand: i.e. Math, Biology
It is summer time and for most students it's a time to have fun and enjoy themselves. And that is what we try to offer our students during our summer program. However, sometimes we also get students who want a review of academic courses such as Math and Science. We therefore offer these courses as available if there is a demand for them.

Computers
Basic computer courses are offered such as surfing the Internet or downloading and playing games. As well as more advanced courses such as word processing and paint shop.

Music
Students learn to play basic tunes on a musical instrument and receive training in voice and rhythm timing.

Arts and Craft
Daily arts and craft classes give the children the opportunity to be imaginative, creative and to learn new skills. Young minds produce paintings, collage work and models made with clay or papier mache.

Drama
It is an essential part of the summer program. It stimulates students imagination, develops self-esteem and confidence, and acts as a vital compliment to the language program. Improvisation, singing and mime are essential ingredients for drama.
